The Pentax AF180FG is the replacement model for Pentax AF201FG. This flash is compatible to all Ricoh GR III/ IIIx and Pentax DSLR.

Compact, dustproof, and weather-resistant, the Pentax AF180FG Flash is a simple, yet reliable auto flash for Pentax DSLR and Ricoh GR III series cameras. Just as the previous AF201FG model, this flash unit is compatible with Pentax’s P-TTL system for automatic flash exposure, offering similar features with some updates, while keeping a simple, uncomplicated operation and the same compact and lightweight body. Users can choose from P-TTL auto flash with first or second curtain sync or use the manual mode for flash control at full or 1/4 power.

Features at a Glance
In addition to automatic control, the AF180FG has a simple, intuitive dial on its back that enables the setting of manual power at 1/1 or 1/4. The flash also offers a recycle time of 5-6 seconds and is compatible with first and second curtain sync modes. Another feature is automatic power off after three minutes of non-operation. It is super compact and light-weight at only 141g.

Weather-resistant design
A dustproof, weather-resistant structure with 18 sealing parts across its body, including the hot shoe give you the confidence going into challenging environments.

Bounce Flash Functionality
The flash head is vertically adjustable to 10 different angles, up to 135°, softening shadows to create a more natural look. Adjust it to -10, 0, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, 105, 120, and 135° for convenient bouncing off the ceiling or wall. It’s worth mentioning that this flash doesn’t rotate horizontally.

Coverage Angle, Wide-Angle Panel
A built-in, pull-out, and wide-angle panel is featured on the flash to cover 20mm angle of view in a 35mm format. Without the panel, the flash has a coverage area of a 24mm angle for full-frame or 16mm for APS-C.

Easy Dial Operation
Experience an easy-to-use, simplified operating system that starts the flash as soon as you turn its Discharge Mode dial, which also works as a convenient on/off switch.

Battery Power
The AF180FG runs on two separately available AAA batteries for approximately 100-130 flashes. The recycling time varies depending on the batteries; the recycle time is six seconds when using alkaline batteries (for 100 flashes) or five seconds with Ni-MH batteries (for 130 flashes).
